Chew, chew and chew!

We live in a time of fast food, fast eating, fast chewing. But chewing, though it’s such a simple act, has a  tremendous impact,
in order to maintain and improve our health and wellness.

In addition….

I talked about how poor blood quality (acidic, thin, too yin) is the primary cause of allergy.

Long term consumption of acid-forming food, and poor dietary habit.

But in addition, I can say that this can be a acute form of “discharge of excess (toxins)” from the body.

I’m saying this from my own experience.

Last week, for some reasons, I ate too much acid-forming, mucus forming food and drink, in a very concentrated way.

Wednesday, a pastry from local bakery at farmer’s market (even though it was organic and vegan, still some sugar in it and flour and so on), along with black tea.

on the way back, I stopped by City bakery and got a pretzel croissant (my occasional treat!)

In the evening, I had some wine at home.

on friday (at least, I had a “day off” on thursday), I went to Whole Foods for grocery shoppint, and got one vegan muffin again (what was I thinking?). And another black tea.

On that evening, another wine drinking.

then on saturday, I had another whole wheat pretzel croissant from City bakery. (was I out of my mind? )

and some wines at home again in the evening.

Then sunday evening, I went out for Easter dinner, a near by, “farm to table” restaurant.

And I had lots of wines, and even dessert!!

Now you can tell what heppened to me afterwards.

All the excess (toxins) are violently being discharged as a form of runny nose and sneezing!!

Well, this was a very rare occasion. It’s an Easter holiday weekend! (excuse, excuse, excuse…)

But I did it WAY too much.

And now I’m paying for that. Very hard way.

I have been eating so clean and getting better with allergy season each year.

And my blood quality may be getting healthier and stronger, too.

But even a few days of poor eating can cause so much problems.

Allergic symptoms, according to Eastern medicine, is a healing crisis that the body is trying to discharge toxins at a very high speed, with the helps of so called “allergen”.

In a way, I’m grateful because this can mean that my body has a very good ability to expel toxins as soon as they enter my body instead of being accumlated and stored, which can be more problematic.  Yet……

Well. at least  I would never do this again. (for a while ….)

Allergy Season!

Sneezing, coughing, runny nose, head/nasal congestions, itchy/ red
eyes, headaches, fever, skin problems …

Many people are suffering from these uncomfortable symptoms this time
of the year.
Pollen, air pollution, dust, animal dander, etc…

Yes, surely those are the triggers for the allergic symptoms. But if they are the only, real causes, why not everybody suffer from
allergies? Some people seem to be experiencing more acute symptoms while
others are less so, or some people are even not suffering at all. What’s the difference?

Where the possibility is 1

Human body has such an amazing self-healing power.

Cut on the skin, injury, and diseases….all eventually start to heal.

We call it immune system.

Everyday, millions of old cells are dying, and being replaced by the new ones.

We call it metabolism.

It’s said that in 7 to 10 years, the entire body cells, trillion of cells are replaced with new ones.

technically, not just figuratively, what we are today is different from what we were yesterday.

and what we will be tomorrow, next week, next month, next year is different.

and in 7 to 10 years, we will be transformed into a new person!

when you think about it, isn’t this just amazing?

each and every day, or every minute, every second, some transformation is happening inside our body.

so when I came across this article, it was no surprise,

fascinating, yet no surprise.

even our brain is experiencing this amazing transformation.

More red meat, more mortality. New study shows

latest studies confirmed, again, that more red meat consumption increases the risk of heart diseases and cancers, and death rate.

what surprises me is that now this news is covered by most of the major massmedia.

usually, this kind of study won’t be out due to a huge pressure from industries.

anyway, here is one of them. today’s NY Times.

Diet coke may increase the risk of heart diseases

this has been another misteries to me in this culture.

why on earth some people even think that “diet coke” is healthy?

“because it’s lower in calories!”

“not using sugar”

right. sure.

to me, it’s soda no matter what.

one of the unhealthiest things you can take into your body.

loads of artificial sweeteners, chemicals, unknown substances, etc etc.

anyhow, latest study has supported my concern.

here is an article in NY times.

Diet and spirituality

most of the religions, especially the ones in Asia, have some strict dietary principle, which is usually whole, vegan diet.

People intuitively knew that gut affects brain, therefore the thought, emotion,  as well as spirituality.

When the gut is “messed up” with poor foods, the head cannot be clear.

animal foods, refined foods, as well as processed food and chemicals muddies and poisens the blood, thus the brain.

So, in order to be able to have a clear thoguht, to make the rigt decisions, and to recieve the energy from the universe,  the gut has to be clean and clear.

That’s why most of the spiritual institutes developed these dietary principle.

You cannot acheive an enlightenment while eating big mac, french fries and coke….
